Cobalex 2000 B12 Plus Selenium Injection- 500ml

Active Ingredients: Hydroxocobalamin (as the acetate) @ 2 mg/mL & Selenium (as sodium selenate) @ 4 mg/mL.

Cobalex 2000 Plus Selenium Injection is used for the treatment and control of Vitamin B12 and Selenium Deficiency in Sheep and Cattle.

Cobalex 2000 Plus Selenium Injection provides vitamin B12 and selenium for treatment and control of deficiency.  Vitamin B12 is an essential component of a number of enzymes involved in normal metabolism. It is stored in the liver and is necessary for appetite, maintenance of energy, production and growth. Selenium is required by sheep and cattle for growth, and is needed to produce a number of enzymes that are important to normal function. Selenium also appears to have a role in the resistance of animals to disease being involved in the production of antibodies and in eliminating pathogens.

Vitamin B12 is a water soluble vitamin which acts as a coenzyme for various metabolic functions, including fat and carbohydrate metabolism and protein synthesis. It is vital for glucose production in ruminants, which is essential to meet the high energy demands of growth and lactation. Selenium is a trace element that is necessary for normal metabolism; it is an essential antioxidant, and key component of proteins that have a role in muscle function, immune system and synthesis of thyroid hormones.

Vitamin B12 deficiency results in reduced appetite and growth rates, ill thrift, infertility and reduced wool and milk production. Selenium deficiency can result in lameness, White Muscle Disease, reduced fertility and immunity, and reduced wool and milk production. Deficiency may occur at any stage of the year but is more likely to happen during stressful periods such as calving/lambing and growing periods of stock. Subcutaneous injection of Vitamin B12 and Selenium is the preferred method of preventing and correcting Vitamin B12 and Selenium deficiency.
