Abbey Animal Health Coxi-Stop 25 is added to the drinking water of chickens for the treatment and control of coccidiosis caused by Eimeria species including: Eimeria tenella, Eimeria necatrix, Eimeria acervulina and Eimeria maxima.

Abbey Animal Health Coxi-Stop 25 was discontinued in November 2022.

A replacement product is now manufactured in Australia under the name Coxi-Quell 25 the active ingredients are unchanged – Coxi-Quell 25 contains 25mg of the active ingredient Toltrazuril. https://nwlivestock.com.au/?post_type=product&p=4080&preview=true

Dosage and Administration:
Coxi-Stop 25 is administered in drinking water at a dose rate of 7mg/kg bodyweight/day and a final drinking water concentration of 75mg/L.

One mL of Coxi-Stop 25 contains 25mg of the active ingredient Toltrazuril.

Coxi-Stop is diluted at a rate of 3L per 1000L of drinking water (3:1000) and administered on 2 consecutive days with an 8 hour treatment period both days.

Add the required amount of Coxi-Stop 25 to the amount of water consumed in an 8 hour period and stir throughly. Allow for varying water consumption during hot weather.

Treat the birds for 8 hours each day for 2 days (2 x 8 hour treatments). All other sources of drinking water should be withheld during the 8 hour treatment period. Ensure full lighting conditions during treatment. Do not withhold feed during treatment.

General Directions:
DO NOT USE GALVANISED OR RUSTY IRON WATER TANKS AND RETUCULATION SYSTEMS.
Coxsi-Stop 25 mixes with all types of water. However in areas where the drinking water is acidic, the water should be tested with pH test strips and brought to a minimum pH of 8.5 using sodium carbonate (washing soda).
To avoid excess foaming, add Coxi-Stop 25 to the water after filling the supply tank.

Broiler Treatment Programme: To use Coxi-Stop 25 in a clinical outbreak obtain an accurate diagnosis. Begin treatment with CoxI-Stop 25 as soon as coccidiosis is confirmed. A treatment period of 2 days is sufficient. If required, treatment may be repeated after 5 days.

Broiler Preventive Programme: To use Coxi-Stop 25 as a coccidiosis preventive in broiler production, give Coxi-Stop 25 as above on days 9 and 10, 16 and 17, and 23 and 24 of life. Do not use a coccidiostat in the feed. An additional treatment may be necessary after 35 days of age but not within 14 days of slaughter.

Layer Birds: Coxi-Stop 25 may be used in replacement pullets and replacement layer breeder birds via the drinking water for an 8 hour period each day for two consecutive days. Treatment may be repeated after 5 days if required.

WITHHOLDING PERIODS:
MEAT: DO NOT USE less than 14 days before slaughter for human consumption.
EGGS: DO NOT USE in laying hens. DO NOT USE in replacement pullets within 8 weeks of laying onset, where eggs are to be used or processed for human consumption. Eggs laid during the withholding period MUST NOT BE USED or processed for human consumption.

    Game changer if you raise chicks or commercial meat birds. This nips coccidia in the bud as a treatment and works even better as a preventative. Don’t use it with medicated feed though.
