Description
Zolvix Plus Broad Spectrum Oral Anthelmintic for Sheep and Cattle (monepantel and abamectin)
Zolvix Plus – Adds life to your roundworm control program
The following information refers only to the use of Zolvix Plus in sheep. Please refer to the product label for information in relation to the use of Zolvix™ Plus in cattle.
Zolvix™ Plus combines monepantel, the only member of the ‘orange’ drench family, with the proven performance of abamectin, to provide broad spectrum control of sensitive nematodes. Used as a knockout, exit or quarantine drench in strategic drench programs, Zolvix™ Plus provides premium parasite control and helps to protect the efficacy of other effective drenches.1
Zolvix™ Plus is effective for the treatment and control of sensitive strains of nematodes (roundworms), including nematodes that have single, dual or triple resistance to macrocyclic lactones (including moxidectin resistant strains), benzimidazoles (white drenches), imidazothiazoles (levamisole, clear drenches) and salicylanilide(e.g. closantel)-resistant strains. Zolvix™ Plus is also effective against AAD-sensitive immature (L4) stages of Haemonchus contortus and Teladorsagia circumcincta where a combination of a macrocyclic lactone and derquantel is less effective.
Important Information
Always read, understand, and follow label directions.
Withholding Periods
MILK (SHEEP): Milk intended for sale for human consumption must be discarded during treatment and for not less than 35 days following the last treatment.

Directions For Use
Zolvix™ Plus is a ready-to-use oral solution. Check dose rates and drench gun before treatment commences. The dose for sheep and lambs is 0.5 mL/5 kg (1 mL/10 kg), equivalent to 2.5 mg monepantel/kg and 0.2 mg abamectin/kg liveweight.
Do not under-dose. Drench sheep and cattle orally, using an Elanco recommended drench gun.
Not to be used in sheep under 15 kg or 3 months of age.
Not to be used in cattle less than 100 kg of bodyweight or 16 weeks of age.
Comments
- Maintain applicator gun carefully to ensure accurate dosage.
- Give full dose orally according to dosing schedule.
- A representative sample of animals should be weighedbefore treatment.
- Dose the mob to the heaviest animal by liveweight in each group (ewes, wethers, rams, lambs). Do not under dose.
- Where there is a large variation in size within the group, dose rates should be based on the label directions for each weight range. Drafting into two or more lines may be appropriate, to avoid excessive overdosing.
- After use, clean gun by flushing with warm, soapy water. Rinse with cold water.
Resistance may develop to any chemical. Ask your local veterinary practitioner or animal health adviser for recommended parasite management practices for your area to reduce development of resistance.
It is advisable to conduct a drench resistance test before any parasite treatment is used. A correct drenching technique should be used to assist in anthelmintic resistance prevention.
Recommended Applicators
