Laucke Mills Meat & Bone Meat – 5Kg

Meat and Bone Meal is be offered as the daylight hours shorten and the weather cools. This time of year also means that egg production will slow (and often stop) and chickens will have the opportunity to rest their bodies and have a well earned break after a spring and summer of egg laying.

During this time, chickens will also take the protein from their food and redirect it into regrowing their new feathers so they are warm over the winter months. This is the perfect time to boost their protein consumption, which may have the added benefit of a faster return to egg laying (dependant on the health of the chickens and the length of daylight hours).

Administration

Adding meal and bone meal to a fermented scratch mix two to three times a week will give your poultry a much needed protein and calcium boost, helping to regrow feathers at a faster rate than they normally would from just their everyday balanced diet.

Alternatively, you can offer meat and bone meal to your chickens in a separate container (much the same way as you would/do with shell grit) and allow them to feed free choice.

Chickens are excellent at sourcing food that they need – some days it will be more than others also.

Crude protein – 50% min.
Crude Fat – 15% max.
Crude Fibre 5% max.

Protein is sourced from cattle/beef, pigs/pork and sheep/lamb.

Storage & Handling – Store in dry conditions, away from heat and pests.
