Description
Bloat Treatment Kit
Bloat Treatment Kit provides an emergency response for livestock suffering from life-threatening bloat. This two-part kit includes a 5mm plastic screw trocar for fast rumen decompression, plus Troy Debrisol Wound Spray to aid recovery and wound healing. Designed for use under veterinary guidance, this kit is ideal for cattle, sheep and goats kept on bloat-prone pasture.
What’s Included?
- 5mm Plastic Screw Trocar – Designed to penetrate the rumen wall and release trapped gas during bloat. The threaded shaft helps maintain position and allows controlled release. Lightweight, compact and easy to clean.
- Troy Debrisol Wound Spray (500mL) – A powerful antiseptic spray containing Propan-2-ol, Cetrimide, and Eucalyptus Oil to cleanse, debride and promote healing. Ideal for post-procedure wound management.
Why Keep a Bloat Treatment Kit?
- Bloat can develop rapidly and is often fatal without urgent treatment
- Early intervention with a trocar may save the animal’s life while waiting for veterinary assistance
- Debrisol helps prevent infection and accelerates healing of the wound site
- Compact kit is easy to store in your farm first aid supplies
How to Use
Insert the trocar into the left paralumbar fossa (after confirming position with a vet) to allow gas to escape. Once the animal is stable, clean the wound with Debrisol Wound Spray daily to aid healing and reduce the risk of infection.
Important Notes
- Always consult a veterinarian before performing any emergency procedure
- Trocar use is a last-resort option when tubing or antifoaming agents are not effective or possible
- This kit is intended for use under supervision or guidance from a livestock vet
